The Beta Publish Engine is now available, giving you an early look at updated technology powering your Showit website.

This update is designed to give Showit websites a stronger foundation for today and whatever comes next.

The new Publish Engine includes:

• Smoother page loading and rendering (less content shifting)
• Improved accessibility and screen reader structure (layers match order in Showit)
• Better content structure for search engines and AI systems
• Faster publishing times for larger sites
• More behind-the-scenes improvements to support the future of Showit

Most of these changes happen behind the scenes with no visible change in your published website, so your website can keep looking great while working better for you.

A Stronger Foundation for What’s Next

The new Publish Engine also prepares Showit for more of the features you’ve been asking for, including WebP images for faster load times, new form field options, and updated animations.

It gives us more room to keep improving the platform while giving you the creative freedom to build a website that can grow alongside your business.

How Do You Try the new Publish Engine?

The new Publish Engine is optional while it remains in Beta. Most existing site designs will continue using the current Publish Engine unless you choose to try the new one.

To preview your website with the new Publish Engine, click Preview and then activate Preview Beta Publish Engine in the Preview panel. We recommend previewing your entire site before publishing, especially if you use custom code. You can even click the icon next to the toggle to get a side-by-side comparison of legacy and new publish engines of your website.

If everything looks good in preview, you can then Publish and toggle the Use Beta Publish Engine option to get all of the updated advantages applied to your live site.

During the Beta period, you can toggle back to the current Publish Engine if something doesn’t render correctly.

Some templates may already have the new Publish Engine enabled. New designs created from one of these templates will automatically be using the new Publish Engine and you may not be presented with the beta option because it's being used as the primary Publish Engine for your design.

Our team is continuing to work on the new Publish Engine daily, resolve reported issues, and improve the experience before its full release.

If something doesn’t look or work as expected, please contact our support team through the in-app messenger and include as many details as possible. Your feedback will help us build a stronger foundation that supports even more creativity across the Showit platform.
